F1 "Feeder Series" site drama, twitter
so the Feeder Series website posted about a position which looks like a job description, and then they added that it's not a paid job, which is terrible
i will add that from what i can tell, the website is not really profitable, they might be all doing everything for free there; there does seem to be a chief editor and a donation button, but good question how much they actually get from that
so basically the biggest issue seems to be the wording of the whole thing, where they should have advertised it as a volunteering opportunity in the first place (and they probably should come clear about whether they receive donation money - and workers should receive portions of that if it's big enough that it does not get cancelled by transfer fees and operational costs) - but the site seems very much like a passion project overall
it seems to have gone twitter viral tho, and people are replying as if Feeder Series was a for-profit business with revenue and someone on top was making money off of workers (tbf it could be the case, but there's usually not many people donating - if any - and there aren't even ads on the site as far as i can tell (tho i do have hosts level blocking, so maybe it's blocked before ublock))
like yea, there are numerous problems with that job ad, but this is not a big site that can generate money
i could be wrong here overall, idk
