if you wanna give me money for no reason at all: ko-fi.com/itsjustduc (seriously, i have no huge need for it rn, but it's always nice to have some extra to spend - note that other people probably have a bigger need for it than i do)

trivia data, random domains
@rune@gts.fedi.tax fair! honestly, if this was actually made, i feel like there's probably a js project out there that is already useable :bun:
trivia data, random domains
@rune@gts.fedi.tax ah cool!
i wonder if this game might work better with manual curation, tho that would be effort + you could do psychological guesses haha
trivia game where you have to guess whether a domain hosts a fedi instance or not
dear matrix dot org
what you're looking for is a "forum" and there are decent self-hostable options!
security (your messages will be securely stored on our public archive servers)
privacy meta, matrix.archive.org
@rune@gts.fedi.tax i think this is part of what is supposed to be the big difference between forums and chatrooms (forums being a very public thing, chatrooms being private), but then people started using discord as a forum equivalent and the line got very blurry
@Dee boopy, boopy and gay
i feel like this is one aspect where self-hostable alternatives could compete with the likes of google and duckduckgo
out of curiosity, is there a self-hostable search engine that only crawls given domains? this could be useful for only indexing forums, for example, and this seems relatively reasonable for a small server i think
i guess Google CSE could work for that out of proprietary solutions
@rune@gts.fedi.tax wow this truly is OceanGate Gate Gate
i'm almost caught up on bluey :/
@Dee a few months ago i got my exported reddit data within an hout iirc... now it is taking a lot longer, which is quite interesting, i should say
all i want is my saved posts
@zwee yeah it's quite distracting!
@Dee that's the beauty tbh
