@jeder When I take notes in Obsidian, what you put in between dollar signs gets interpreted as MathJax (which is like tiny LaTeX) and I get nicely formatted maths notation in my otherwise very normal text editor
@jeder Because whenever I try using a wysiwyg editor, like libreoffice writer, or msword, what I get is an incomprehensible mess of inconsistent formatting, that ends up being almost 8MiB. And my CV, which I initially wrote back in 2008, and just update ever since, still renders perfectly fine .pdf files that weigh under 40KiB
@jeder if you mean LaTeX and not the material some gloves are made of, I mainly use it when I need to deal with a lot of math equations because it's so much faster to write those in LaTeX compared to WYSIWYG editors like MS Word
@jeder I use it with Emacs at work to make standard operating procedure documents and shit. I made a custom class for it so I can write just the content, run the export, and get a nice looking PDF without having to think about formatting
