@jeder up to you really, 16 is fine for most usecases, but 32 does give more headroom and being not much more expensive it could be worth it I guess

@leekspinner @mikoto shit's not even equal with t490, i have a zen+ apu, t490 has better screen options, i think you can stuff a 32gb stick and have all of it available, and t495 is limited to one wwan modem, but i got one for cheap from ali and it works so

@jeder @mikoto i've never owned anything AMD newer than Bulldozer/Steamroller (2014), mainly because in my market it's really not that worth buying

there is always a better value older option for less

they tend to be so weak the fact that they draw little power is moot because they're just gonna consistently draw max power and drain the battery fast

@jeder @mikoto the high perf chip in mine is good at not drawing too much power when it's not needed and kicking into overdrive when it is, its the best compromise

though that's probably also partly responsibility of Windows because my battery life on it is great for such a shit health battery

@mikoto @leekspinner tbh amd laptops wouldn't be so bad if they had thunderbolt support, like sure whatever you are stuck with 4 zen+ cores, but being able to get an external gpu running would be great

@leekspinner @jeder officially my latop maxes at 32 GB but there are multiple reports of it supporting 64 GB, wondering if that's the same with your latitude

the official specs were written before 32 GB dimms eisted
