I think the Star Wars universe only makes sense if you assume that nobody has any idea what they're doingYou can be good at shooting/swordfighting/piloting a starfighter and stuff, but you cannot be good at strategy or planning. Nobody in the entire galaxy knows anything about strategy or planning. That's why gigantic star destroyers are regularly defeated by tiny starfighters. And that's why huge evil galactic empires are regularly beaten by a bunch of teenagers
