My issue is the fact the initial announcement is on the Discord.

All Mastodon admins should know about software updates at the same time. Everyone needs the same information at the same time so we all know what’s what.

You shouldn’t gatekeep critical information, even if you do release it elsewhere.

An announcement is a communication. Everyone deserves equal communication. Not just those who paid to hear it first.

@duc especially so! And even if there wasn’t a paid Discord server, not everyone has a Discord account. But everyone can sure access a Web link. Which would be where an announcement would be much better held.
