@luna I like both, but sometimes the OSM mappers make a drive-by contributions based on ??? without checking reality, which - for example - made them change the address for this building: www.openstreetmap.org/search?whereami=1&query=52.24164,20.98473#map=19/52.24164/20.98473

The proper address for this building (the one where you can see the "Warszawski Hackerspace" label) is Wolność 2A.

And the satellite and street-view photos on gmaps are also surprisingly useful, especially when checking out an area before you actually go there.

@ar The address is wrong in government databases, y'all should probably report that to city authorities somehow

Satellite and street-view based on KartaView is certainly possible, but no app has integrated them yet :( The polish Geoportal's orthoimagery is much higher quality than Google's satellite view. But OSM in my area is mapped to the point where I don't even need satellite imagery because it's more accurate

@luna Not enough spoons to report that to city authorities. Also, ideally we'd actually want to change the building address, as - again, in reality, not on some maps - there are quite a few buildings around it that share the same "Wolność 2A" address, which causes problems with shipping companies and food delivery.

@ar Then it sounds like they already changed it for you without announcing it? Geoportal says the address is up to date as of January 2023, I wouldn't be surprised if they did that so there aren't multiple buildings with the same address

@luna In which case that would mean the city authorities didn't bother to notify anyone actually using the building about the changes.
