@jeder why do ppl still drool over the t420 so hard, its 12 years old and worse compared to literally any modern non-ultrabook in literally every area other than “you can upgrade everything in it”

@0x4d696b75 i don't, i would be more of a t480 person, but I am stuck with t495 so
however, I'd get t420 if it was dirt cheap those few years ago as a first laptop, that's for sure

i don’t own a thinkpad tho, i have a dell latitude, but those two are pretty much interchangeable. same reliability/benefits different brand

@jeder My reaction to seeing this laptop for first time (in chronological order):

wow, it’s ugly

Pfffftt why this keyboard is so small XDDD

Only 6 ports, one of them being some proprietary garbage. At least power connector is not combined with USB-C port.

1229$ MSRP (~6000 PLN after tax and shops margin)… I guess? But why 6th gen ryzen tho

No information on repairability, so it’s safe to assume that everything is soldered 💩
