payment app grumble (swish and mobilepay) Apparently MobilePay is Denmark's equivalent of Swedish Swish; where with swish you can only sign up if you have a Swedish bank account, with MobilePay you can only sign up if you have a Danish phone number

And often these are the only payment methods at some small stores in Sweden (and presumably Denmark), that or cash

Meanwhile as a foreigner you're then unable to use these apps (even if you're European) because of those signup restrictions, and these apps are used instead of card payments

payment app grumble (swish and mobilepay) @ShadowJonathan and that's why poland is so great, we got our card revolution too late for this maestro/vpay bullshit, but early enough so that it's actually possible to pay with card absolutely everywhere

Im confused, aren't maestro and vpay/visa one of the only ones that give wireless payment options? Or what payment method do you mean?

payment app grumble (swish and mobilepay) @ShadowJonathan we have mastercard debit and visa debit which do work on mastercard/visa credit card systems, and is also the reason why I was so annoyed with Albert Heijn, we have dropped maestro like 10 years ago at this point, and idk if we even had vpay, we had visa electron though
