I've been a fan of many things whose fan communities had problems, some more frustrating than others. However, if there's one fandom which, on numerous occasions, made me feel ashamed to be among its fans, it's the Western manga and anime fandom.

@asie same, i don't really interact within fandoms nowadays, maybe with someone that i know and who has similar anime interests to me
and then i waste money on anime figurines anyway but in my own closet

@jeder @risenvalkyrie I don't really go to anime Discords, I learned my lesson the hard way - but anime is mainstream enough in online spaces to just, come up, as a subject
