Like if I pay 100€ for headphones, which I would consider very expensive, I would hope they last longer than like cheap ass superlux headphones

But apparently no, more expensive doesn't mean better.

The audio quality doesn't matter if the product just disintegrates within a year tbh.

@lunareclipse my sony wh-1000xm4s already seem to need at least a bit of repair because my anc goes fucking bonkers and i have them for just 1.5 years

@jeder @lunareclipse same experience with both wh-1000 and wf-1000 (both are 4th gen), they lasted for 2 and 1.5 years. then ANC started to be noisy and interfering with music, and no amount of cleaning helps :(

that's especially infuriating if ANC is a necessity for people like me. Fuck them, my next headphones will be "fairbuds"

@byte @lunareclipse yeah my anc has the problem of left headphone going nuts, it's noticeably noisier, and if you rotate it in the wrong way, it will emit a deafening high pitched noise

@byte @lunareclipse i have read that this can go away if you remove glue between the microphone and shell? I need to try that, so I'd need like ipa and new earpads anyway, I have no idea if its gonna work but it's always worth trying
