ok to akkoma users, what made you choose it over the other software? are you worried about the eventual akkoma rot on your instance? i've never used akkoma and i wanted to see why people use it

@neon @jeder akkoma rot is very real. i have an entire list of instances, including my own (the Platypus Social), which have suffered from it.

@ashten @neon and why did you not ask dev for support about it (in order to help them possibly fix it for everyone) and instead blame whole software as failure?

@jeder @neon because its a fundamental issue with the database layout. @phoenix_fairy has been looking at how the DB works, and it's an absolute mess in there. tbh, im more surprised that it works at all on it's current state.

my partner has also taken a look at the code as well, and its also a mess.

if its fixable, it'll take a significant amount of time and effort to fix. its not a single line of code that needs to be fixed. it needs a rewrite.
