fedi/*key software hot take you know i really wish people pulled the stick out of their asses with all the "C# bad!!"
would you prefer:
- misskey that is pretty much a one big bowl of spaghetti code that absolutely no one understands (see that one frontend bug with old posts sticking on top for no apparent reason, that no one understands),
- a fork of that bowl (firefish) but also with a pinch of rust code that doesn't change anything and all it does is make it worse by increasing build times significantly
- or a software in proper programming language devs have actual experience with (iceshrimp), that does reimplementation of most stuff misskey does, but without all the pitfalls of using it


other forks are out of scope and idc

fedi/*key software hot take @jeder idk if I'm qualified to chip in here but c# is not exactly singular. A lot of people I know that know c# are primarily huddled around unity mono c#. I'm assuming you're looking at newer .net versions. But what i see in opensource it's been terrible (insert complaints about the Godot c# implementation)
I hope it can see more adoption but there's a lot of terrible code out there for all of the language.

fedi/*key software hot take @jeder @aprl well it feels like when they started developing like .net core 1 & 2 went into a good direction. But then they brought back old msbuild tooling support with old project files, blazor a framework which imho is bad, telemetry in their tools all over the place, proper LSP support only for their own compiled version of vscode and not the open source versions of it, their own MVC Framework has a bunch of inconsistency and issues (well one can work around that), their weird ORM Framework (EF) which has its own bloat and issues as well...
