- the weird way Sharkey sends reacts generated from the like button to non-Mastodon compared to Firefish and company, pointed out by an Iceshrimp dev - the recent security vuln where Iceshrimp people made a big deal about it because the Sharkey devs pushed code that eval'd a JSON, apparently that's such an embarassing rookie mistake - the very enthusiastic promotion over fedi I guess? :satrithink:
@mima - what's wrong with that, as in, what's weird about it, genuine question - i heard about that but also heard that it's been patched extremely quickly, shit happens - whar
- some are annoyed about constantly getting animated emoji reactions because someone's Sharkey instance made the like button send out that animated emoji. Then some in Iceshrimp are annoyed that a unicode emoji (like a ❤️) gets split off from the same exact emoji (which is fairer I guess, but I think the other side needs to consider fixing it on theirs too, like treat  the shortcode and ❤️ the emoji as the same instead of different) - ikr? and there has been a similar incident too with Lemmy which is an XSS due to the Markdown parser and I can tell you that Sharkey doesn't even come close to how much of a disaster that was! :koishtare: - it gets old pretty quick tbf, but I don't personally mind it really :chuckling_okuu:
@jeder Oops, I'm not sure why I thought she was. I saw the "i do not represent the beliefs of the iceshrimp team" in her thread and my mind just went "oh she's part of the iceshrimp dev team" and didn't read the phrase immediately after clarifying she's just an Iceshrimp user. Sorry.
