It's mostly about still being based on the shitty Misskey v12 codebase, which is practically not salvageable

@privateger @graphite they rebased onto iceshrimp, yeah. i heard they may be considering rebasing onto the IS c# rewrite too when that releases (but i have no sources so don't quote me on that)

the only forks i'm aware of that are planning to stick with mkv12 are firefish and goblin (that one by the ex-tumblr dev)

@jeder @graphite @kopper Nothing wrong with a Rust rewrite, it would probably have been the saner option, but like a grand total of 100 lines of Rust were ever written in Firefish, then compiled as Node modules that were probably slower to context switch to than just using JS.
