@sk it doesn't matter because our radio doesn't really support adding your own stations
(and we wanted to get something new anyway, although this complicates things a bit)

@jeder oh that's what i use STRM files for on my emby.media server (which i access using UPnP/DLNA on my old network-enabled radio)

@sk i guess i could use my homeserver for something like this, since like, it's not doing anything besides home assistant stuff, and is actually kinda powerful as you can see lol

@jeder ah! that looks a lot like hls - i actually just recently read about it being the preferred protocol for mobile radio streams (www.radiomast.io/docs/streaming-network/hls.html)
also, kexp.org also provides only a hls stream, which is why i know that emby supports it - and can transpile it so i can listen to it from my stereo :D

@jeder also, apparently, the playlist only serves the current chunklist (see miau.jeder.pl/notes/9qwkitwudhzxzrfp) - hls streams are supposed to be multiple chunklists; idk how exactly it works tho. maybe the manifest.f4m works better (e.g. stream85.polskieradio.pl/omniaaxe/k14.stream/manifest.f4m) - or maybe not, 404..
