Had a problem where my #phone wasn't able to hold a #usbc cable in, after reading online, I let the battery die, took a sewing needle and started probing inside the port.
Dear lord the amount of LINT. But atleast the cable stays in now!
(Also, if you're wondering why I didn't use a toothpick, the toothpick would always break before I could get to the lint lol)
@charadon I feel like this is one aspect where Lightning did excel, since it’s quite easy to get in the port with something like a toothpick or sim ejector tool. USB C has incredibly narrow gaps and I’m always afraid of bending pins or causing other damage…
@NanoSector Micro-usb also did pretty good too. Rather than relying on magnets or something, it'd just use good ol fashion mechanical prongs. Yeah, the cables broke quite a bit because of it, but they were cheap
@aetios@NanoSector@charadon ironically enough i never had to dig them out and this year was like the first time i had to dig out usb-c port, and that's like the first time in six years of using usb-c devices
