@pettter they announced "nft usernames" and had some quite jarring nazi references, where you couldn't even think of 420 as a funny weed joke, but instead a reference to hitlers birthday
@jeder yes, although it's more obscure and more plausibly deniable (like, half of numbers in 1000-1500 range seem to have shit of varying awfulness associated with it). But also drawing attention to 4/20 is stretching it imo considering that it's (1) an actual date that was just six days ago, and (2) a hugely well known cannabis meme (much better known than Hitler's birthday), to the point that in my city, like 10k went to the streets to celebrate cannabis decriminalization on this day last week
@IngaLovinde in this case it fits pretty well between 1488 and tucker carlson though, a guy known to spread antisemitic conspiracy theories. [jeder@miau.jeder.pl](mailto:jeder@miau.jeder.pl)
@owl yeah tucker Carlson on these screenshots was extremely inappropriate and bad, there is no explanation or excuse for that. (He's somewhat well known in Russia, and that's not for his antisemitism, but (1) telegram is not in Russia, and (2) his popularity there (being promoted by Russian government) runs antithetical to Telegram.) The fact that ticket Carlson interviewed Durov (in the only interview Durov gave in a decade) is more damning than that they used that interview in screenshots though.
@jeder they need to change it to a normal number, like 287 or 1023 or 9876, or anything that's NOT a nazi symbol if they want to prove they're not Nazis (they are nazis)
