@jeder@tetra@yassie_j I’m ngl I have grown insanely annoyed with “not just bikes”. He tends to paint a utopian picture of Amsterdam while acting like NA is forever fucked even though he mentions multiple times that most of the damage happened over a total of 2 decades. Most of the time it feels less like he wants progress and more that he just wants to make people feel sad about not living in Amsterdam.

What you should do is try to advocate for better cities by spreading awareness or aid the development by providing in-depth critiques of the pros and cons of various urban planning ideas, instead of just holding up one city/country as "the perfect example of everything"
@jeder@tetra he paints a picture of progress in Amsterdam and other places he visits, and while he’s not incorrect… He’s not really accurate. The policies of cities like Amsterdam are in spite of a general push by the national government… And it’s not like the city council aren’t opposed to the widening and expansion of the A10 motorway anyway!
@jeder@tetra I believe at present it’s about 6/7 lanes, which is wide for the Netherlands (most motorways have two lanes plus a hard shoulder), but wouldn’t be unusual in larger European countries.
