@kopper funny that you mention this because i am currently fighting with dockerized wordpress that runs on php-fpm, to work with caddy that is outside of docker and i have no fucking idea what it wants from me

@jeder the thing about php-fpm is that it's extremely sensitive to filesystem permissions. make sure both the php user and the caddy user (in containers) can access the wordpress files

@kopper and i suppose this is like some permission bullshit between rpm-managed caddy and the wordpress container

@jeder however you set it up both caddy and php-fpm need read access to the files (and their containing directories) and all of them need to be at the exact same paths for both (if i recall correctly. it's certainly the easiest way to pull it off)

php is very clearly not intended for containers

@jeder i think nextcloud pulled this off by writing all it's files to a volume on start so you can point your webserver there. unsure how the wordpress container you're using does things but i imagine it'd be similar

@jeder can't you run the database inside a container and let it expose the port to 127.0.0.1? i do it all the time for dev stuff on my laptop

@jeder if you can, try throwing a file with
<?php
phpinfo();

in it somewhere and trying to open it just to make sure php works in the first place. if that works then it's a bug in whatever cursed wordpress mod you're running, otherwise it's your php setup

@jeder yeah it should just be those two lines. you don't even need the closing ?> (which is actually discouraged in modern php as it can break sending headers due to trailing newlines and all that)
