If you have a Windows 10 Pro, or Windows 11 Pro device, with a dedicated external Trusted Platform Module (TPM), all of your encrypted data could easily be decrypted and read - all that’s needed is a little brainpower, a $10 Raspberry Pi Pico, and physical access to the target endpoint.
ah so it might not be backdoored but it's absolutely useless because cops can crack that in few minutes if they have hardware

You can read up on the technicalities of the flaw and its exploit here, but the short story is that the communication lanes between the CPU and the external TPM are completely unencrypted on boot-up.
pffffffffffff what is this, xbox 360?

@jeder iirk that is only the case if you use some compatibility mode (which is the default on windows).
when using that other mode its far more difficult, as the communication is actually encrypted

@4censord yeah so it's still safe to assume it's useless because if they don't change that then it's like
why

@jeder oh, and that is no longer explotable easily if you need to also enter a password on boot.
Because then the key is derived from both the password and the stuff in the tpm combined
