@jeder the only phone that genuinely had back-cracks in them was one i had without protectors, and often fell out of my hands while cycling

@ShadowJonathan i started to be careful about my phone when I got a curved screen xiaomi whatever and like since I couldn't get a proper screen protector for that, I got a proper case instead and i just don't use screen protectors at all ever since, and there were multiple times when I dropped the phone, but case just absorbed everything

@jeder Both our pixels plopped face down on sharp rocks two years in a row after never breaking a screen

Fixed the screen for both, the Pixel 4a randomly stopped working half a year later

@natty @jeder tbh even "point" sockets (like screw points in computer cases) can get ruined, my case already has one PCIE slot screw hanging on by magic

i would say brass sockets or nothing but i'm worried about the sockets staying in place long-term

i guess plastic sockets would be fine if they weren't in ABS plastic
