Just unlocked RAW editing of phone pictures! This was taken with a Pixel 7a and edited in RawTherapee.

1. Phone JPG
2. Me attempting to match the JPG
3. Me going for a more digital camera vibe

I noticed that these DNGs I get out of OpenCamera are a bit funky. The white balance is definitely wrong. Typical Kelvins don't match at all.
Also notable is that the camera chooses to underexpose in sunlight as to preserve the highlights in the sky. Makes sense, otherwise the sky would probably be white on any sensor. That is not what a lot of digital cameras (especially older ones) do as this can cause noise.

Also fun to see that small text is more legible in the RAWs and noise reduction obliterates them along with thin distant overhead wires.

@tammeow ngl i have like 2 camera apps on my phone that can do RAWs and tbh i have no idea what i can even do with it because like, lens correction in lightroom is useless for it, and white balance is all over the place

@jeder oh i did not notice that at all but you are right. it is very strong hmm. yeah sucks that you cannot compensate automatically like the phone or cameras in general do :/
