@jeder yeah, remote reactions on .NET currently don't work with anyone but akkoma (and presumably pleroma too?) and other .NET instances. (so both misskey and chuckya can't see them)
the state of remote emoji reactions suck atm. nobody actually sends "proper" emoji objects like any other AP object but instead tries re-creating them and resorting to parsing emoji names or image URLs or whatever
@jeder they have inline emoji objects whose IDs are unresolvable (just point to the emoji .png instead). presumably other instances don't bother resolving the emoji from their id and just accept it (i want to say misskey basically pretends the akkoma remote emojis are from the same instance?). iceshrimp's inline objects don't have an id at all which confuses everyone including iceshrimp (so remote emoji reactions get duplicated instead of adding +1 to the existing one)
@jeder it's not that difficult to expose emoji as an activitypub activity you can then embed a reference to in the EmojiReact, but i have no idea how existing implementations would take that.
also the existing db schema doesn't save the IDs of remote emoji
