Less than 24 hours remaining until the new #tram line in Barcelona is opened! While this is just phase one for the tram connection, it will be highly useful, as it connects with three different metro lines and adds a long-time missing link to the #PublicTransit network.

Workers are tirelessly polishing the last details before the inauguration, which will happen tomorrow. [1/3]

[Edit: and... it's postponed! It will be opened on Sunday]

@jeder @aroma Wow, seems like a ground-level power supply. Never saw this for trams. Maybe the city doesn't want overhead lines all over the place or it's not possible. Also some people find it ugly. But hey, if it works, why not.

@r3vilo @jeder the only reason they decided to use this proprietary system is because some people were complaining about the uglyness of the wires, which is quite dumb tbh. The rest of the network uses overhead wires except for this new part.
