funnily, all of these are replies to accounts i follow, meaning the most likely vector for the spam from hitting my instance is through inbox forwarding. i could most likely stop a vast majority via disabling ld signature verification, but some important activities like edits wouldn't federate over through relays (so relayed posts would stay in their original state).
perhaps a toggle for ld signature verification per remote could be a useful stop-gap here?
ASSUMING the inevitable account suspensions that have most likely already happened, how could those get federated?
one thing that could be done is for mastodon to inbox forward the account deletion for all the reply authors that got deleted, but that could be extremely difficult to pull off since the reply deletions likely done via db cascades (or some other bulk operation) from the account itself being deleted
