@privateger Hot take, to claim to be a replacement for Discord, there is no need for beeing 'good', given how worse Discord is. Everything you can get is better, even this is far from good.

Discord has many flaws, yes, but you'll be hard pressed to find something that works better for public spaces. There's a reason they have hundreds of millions of users and also managed to choke out Teamspeak back in the day.
@privateger@f2k1de discord is a ux mess, the time i used it was riddled with dark patterns, the notifications are basically broken, it's a resource hog and this hasn't gotten better.
basically everything is better than discord. even irc and teamspeak, which it tried to replace.
@maxi@f2k1de@privateger after all these years (8 to be exact) of using supposed "ux mess" riddled with dark patterns, i still find easier to use as user, and while i dont really mod shit, it still a breeze to just yeet a whole ass raid compared to whatever you get normally on matrix clients (which is close to nothing to be fair lmao)
