I've decided that I'm gonna stick around here for now, things have been really poopy for me lately irl and I really don't have the headspace to deal with a migration and looking for a server that fits my needs and vibe.Especially since I personally know @ShadowJonathan, they've always been extremely helpful and I trust them completely, I know I'll be well here for as long as they're on the mod team 💗
However, I can't ignore the recent happenings, which reinforce me in the opinion that I should look into hosting an instance of my own, as migration to another server is just a half-measure. Down the line I'd like to host my own fedi instance, otherwise I'll forever be at the risk of being affected by tribal wars between instances, which are rooted in conflicts I have no full insight into and can't form a proper opinion on as a bystander user.
As to when I'll do that, I don't know. Money, time and energy are an issue, I'm not savvy at all when it comes to hosting, so I'd have a lot to learn.
