ok fedi server communicate with each other via activitypub. but clients to all servers, communicate over the mastodon API???

shouldn't something like a activitypub protocol for server <-> client exist?

@fossdd it does exist in the specifications published by the W3C, buuuuuut it ended up not being realised by any fedi software I know because of how Mastodon did things in that regard + Mastodon coincidentally becoming the biggest fedi software somehow.
