@yassie_j like for all of our problems with gargron at least he's actually made a huge impact on the fediverse as a whole
meanwhile i don't even think pixelfed or any of dansups other projects have made a very large impact outside of the techbro open-source-but-actually-closed side of fedi
@Chloe@yassie_j i tried to use pixelfed and i have a bunch of Opinions about it a) it's a hog full of memory leaks (it loads all the fucking 10mb 24mpx photos into ram and sometimes it will just skyrocket to using like, idk a normal amount of 30(thirty) gigabytes of ram) b) it's somehow impossible to migrate from it to netshrimp and also impossible to debug from both sides because shrimp doesn't get anything about it and pixelfed insists it couldn't lookup the user even though it's federating with it nicely
