i'm sorry but
the intercity train, ran with a FLIRT³ (vmax 160) and with 4 more extra stops on the route, made the journey in 2 hours and 22 minutes - only 2 minutes over the scheduled "express intercity premium" train ran with a Pendolino (vmax 200)

...why even have them /s

@ptrc hmm you probably need to have slack in the scheduled timeline to prevent the tiniest problems from escalating the delay and fucking up the schedule? So sure, a slower train can make a journey in this time (when it's running late and when it's lucky); but would it be able to consistently do so, always?

Also looking at openrailwaymap, on this route there are only two small stretches with allowed speeds above 160, like 15km to the south of Włoszczowa and 15km to the west of Grodzisk Mazowiecki?

@IngaLovinde @ptrc the problem with that line is that it's currently undergoing ETCS updates so while third of it still has 160km/h limit normally, most of it has it rn
