you bought this knowing a SBC was not an adequate desktop replacement? haha. guess what. you'll never guess. we're marketing it as an alternative mini pc. competing against x86 based computers in the same price range. but we have 16 gb of ram you can't upgrade

@jeder especially like, ivy bridge based. it's a night and day difference. it's not like i am running arbitrary code through a webbrowser or random programs. my storage server has no reason to have mitigations on because it literally just runs NFS & OpenZFS.

@jeder it's about risk assessment. i wouldn't main a computer with mitigations=off (well i mean i would, but only if i didn't browse random sites).

@jeder oh lol. i see. i disable it on servers that do a lot of compilation and other things that benefit from speculative execution not being neutered. makes sense
