it seems to be pretty well-rounded, was not expecting this at all for a 10$ switch the IC is an airoha AN8855, has an SPI flash attached to it and there are no other chips inside so it must be some kind of SoC with a microcontroller in it
i will absolutely be buying their 16 port model no questions asked holy fuck this is awesome also it comes with a power brick but it will also accept PoE
@jeder keep in mind it's managed, hardware-wise it's equivalent to the "smart" switches from some vendors but those tend to artificially limit the capabilities exposed in firmware I got the 5 port model and it seems just as capable as like, a usw flex mini which is 30$ (tbf tho ubiquiti is a scam)
@novenary ngl i still am not sure whats the deal with managed switches but given my 8-port dumb switch has like all ports used and i might use more, yea
@jeder I like VLANs to isolate some things like, the printer does not need to be allowed online (and yes you can just firewall it off but it's not as neat)
