@kuriko counterpoint: if there's no fare gate then it's confusing how to pay for it if you're not familiar with the system case in point: yesterday we accidentally dodged a fare (sorta) on the link light rail because we didn't notice the orca reader or the line saying "fare paid zone" because we were just trying to catch the next train
@ielenia@kuriko it doesn't stop them from just making a line similar to fare gate but with normal validators instead, and some of them on the platform, or just, you know, having them inside the vehicles
@jeder@kuriko putting them on the vehicles would slow the boarding process but yeah it would have been a lot less confusing if they actually put the reader near the line for the fare paid zone

never seen that happen and almost all of our systems are like that, you just have a validator next to every door, and people will validate after departing
