The UK government demanded a backdoor on Apple's iCloud service's Encryption so they could see all the content posted there (even stuff not uploaded by UK citizens)
Instead of complying Apple simply pulled that feature out of the UK market, which is a win for everyone globally, but it's a bit alarming because it's really a matter of "who's next"
Anyways, if you live in the UK you gotta just host your own E2E cloud service now.
