After hearing someone laugh in a video and smiling, I recall how annoying it sometimes is when a group laughs in other videos/podcasts, and it occurs to me that this is similar to how hearing people talk over each other in a group is annoying, even though regular speech is not.
Though a crowd laughing at a comedian isn't annoying, maybe because they are not the focus in that situation 🤔
Although rarely it can be funny when people talk over each other with perfectly wrong timing that makes each of them incomprehensible
(imagine each of these paragraphs being read to you simultaneously)
