i love how warszawa-rzepin is basically impossible to do directly without the expensive EIC trains, and apart from a single direct night train there aren't any connections

and well, the best option involves getting up at 6 and taking the 7:30 train to Poznań, and then a short transfer to the Berlin-bound IC 230 ( which surprisingly is not an EIC )

@ptrc you see, EIC is when train is an Express and it goes through Warsaw
it's not an EIC if it doesn't go through Warsaw

@darkphoenix @ptrc the thing is, we do have express trains that do not go through capital, they just aren't called express and use cheaper tariff, even though they are expresses in everything but name

@ptrc @darkphoenix despite the fact that we have just 3 long distance categories, in reality there are six of them
EIP - EIC but with pendolinos and slightly more expensive fares
EIC - express ran on commercial rules
4-digit IC - express ran on PSC rules
5-digit IC - fast train ran on PSC rules
however,
EIC/EC - EuroCity express ran on commercial rules
IC/EC - EuroCity express ran on PSC rules
ECs do have a second 5-digit number outside of the 2/3-digit ones so they do not fall into the 5-digit IC area, and are not called EC in poland

@jeder @ptrc I'll be honest I still don't get why PKP insist on renaming ECs when they pass Poland, it's pointlessly confusing for literally everyone and kind of goes against the whole point of having long running consistently named through services passing multiple countries

@darkphoenix @ptrc which is why every long distance train (outside of EIP) has its own name here, notable exceptions being Berlin-Warszawa-Express and Baltic Express which are named lines instead
