@jeder the old town in Rome was among the first! I’ve seen these in action in Norway too. But these days you can also have city buses with large enough batteries that can last a day, and are recharged in the depot overnight.
@uint8_t yeah we have went for battery electrics and they seem to be working out very well for the city, granted they have done first dumb decision that is shortening one suburban line to a train station, because it has a panto charger there even though people used it to get to the city centre (and this has shortened the route by a kilometer which is substantial in compact city like this) and i just do not get it lmao and best thing is that it's served by both electrics and diesels
