@jeder would be funny if it wasn't a bit too real /lh no seriously it's absurd how many business trips are "flying halfway across the continent to have lunch with someone", and how important it was to some people to get back to doing that as soon as possible after the lockdowns
Similar to my favorite, when 2 or 3 people who actually do work need to travel somewhere, and about 10 managers and others tack onto the travel. Where they could have 1) read a trip report, 2) gotten what they needed from the 2-3 people over video call or 3) not gone and not missed anything.
The last one I was on, one of the working group of three people, took all the managers (11 of them!!!) on a tour, while the other two of us did our work for 2 hours.
High praise for that poor soul running interference for us.
