The lady in the shop said "Coś ta kasa szwankuje". The verb "szwankować". Another beautiful German loanword in the Polish language :)

I find it funny that the Polish far-right is so anti-German, yet the speak the Polish language, which basically means that they use 3 German loanwords in every sentence and are not aware of it

Especially if you are any sort of mechanic or construction worker, in those areas almost everything in Polish is a German loanword.

"Weź laubzegę, wasserwagę i hebel i idź na dach montować rynny stalowymi śrubami".

@82mhz @stfn just say “machen” all the time and it will be done. “Schella” will also work.

I think there also something like “machen zi schlachen” but I don’t know.

I have to read some of these things out loud to understand what they mean, because the spelling is so different... tytka = Tüte.

Now I wonder why my Polish friend here is struggling so much learning German when it's basically the same language 😉

@82mhz @mms those are very old loan words, and were transferred phonetically, later people wrote down what they heard, and so the spelling is what it is :)
