why wałbrzych "metro": this shit ain't integrated lmao the only thing connecting municipalities in it are trains and a bunch of commercial and/or out-of-city-tariff public buses. example of commercial buses being 31 Świdnica-Świebodzice-Wałbrzych. there's also 30 Świebodzice-Wałbrzych which is just a shortened 31.and from public buses not using city tariff are uh, 315 Świdnica-Żarów and 532 Świdnica-Wrocław. one of the problems is that numeration is not unified so you have shit like 30 Świdnica-Lubachów, 30 Świebodzice-Wałbrzych and 30 Dzierżoniów - Przerzeczyn Zdrój. the only line with consistent numbering is 532 and that's because it is using Wrocław numbering, which has been figured out ages ago lmfao, though Świdnica 3xx is also somewhat making sense given we had 302, 330 and now 315, though 302 and 330 are long gone, 302 was an extension of 2 Świdnica-Komorów and it went from Komorów to Milikowice, while 330 was an extension of 30 and went from Lubachów to Zagórze Śląskie, and was like, the only MPK line that actually connected with Wałbrzych network but it's gone.
to think that all three of these networks were under WPK Wałbrzych just 40 years ago, and they weren't unified back then at all, grave mistake, the reason why 31 is even numbered at all is because it's a remnant of WPK days, but it's privatised nowadays. the only thing that is somewhat holding on is the intracity public transport in Świdnica and this whole Dzierżoniów-Bielawa-Pieszyce tricity thing. Wałbrzych zbiorkom has been in this spiral ever since WPK got dissolved and it was getting somewhat stable in recent years but they keep doing dumbest moves ever - recently they kicked out some consortium (which also didn't give a shit but that's another story), took over the control over the network and introduced hydrogen buses, which are a constant source of trouble for them. Świdnica meanwhile invested into battery buses, creates an off-grid power plant in the depot with sole purpose of charging the buses. Bielawa is probably the system I am least familiar tbh and I have no idea what their plans are but given whenever I go there, I see the same stinky SOR buses I saw last time, they probably have no plans at all lmfao
