Good news: PKP InterCity has a new interface which makes booking Interrail reservations MUCH easier and simpler than before

Less good news: they forgot to translate the error messages 😀

So a quick translate leads me to conclude that if I don't want a quiet carriage I am OK 👌

(and I am SO MUCH looking forward to this next month: going to corners of Poland I have never visited, and also going - finally! - to Gdańsk. One of my favourite countries to travel by train!)

And it does have translations

I can hence tell IC 23112 Hrubieszów Miasto - Zamość is not compulsory reservation (which is useful), but what is "transport of conductor deliveries" 🤔

@jon it's an ad hoc parcel service, you hand over a thing to the train conductor and they give it to whoever at the destination

@jon you don't, you just have to find the conductor, which sounds quite stressful tbh

@jon also the delivery is limited to the single train itself, they will not facilitate any transfers, so frankly i'd say the usefulness of it is fairly limited and i doubt people really use it super much

@pony @jon iirc they want to revamp it and make it more useful so hopefully those limitations will disappear

@pony @jon does sound kinda crazy given the prevalence of delivery companies but I suppose there's still nothing faster than doing it yourself or sending it this way

@jeder @jon the ČD one was about 3 times the regular postal service, which was bit of a weird spot, amazing price when you needed the speed, but too expensive when you didn't (and you mostly don't)

@pony @jon przesyłka konduktorska is 30 PLN which is just 5-10 PLN more expensive than traditional delivery companies
