so, microsoft released a new terminal plaintext editor called "edit", and it's actually really nice honestly, it feels a lot like classic notepad before they ruined it, but in the terminal. it works with either keyboard controls or the mouse. i'm guessing a lot of people will use this over notepad when it comes to windows 11

is it sacrilegious to say i think i might actually prefer this over nano? it just feels super polished and works really well. the only thing that would keep me from using it is the fact it's made by microsoft, although it is open source under the MIT license

also, it's fully written in rust for those of you who like that :P

@mjdxp and honestly this being an actual mouse friendly product already sets it above nano for like, you know, beginners and whatnot

@mjdxp I wouldn't count on people switching from notepad to this though, just because it's in terminal
