@sammy potential things to take into consideration: • power consumption of the smart plugs themselves • cloud or local only? • build quality / fire hazard • convenience – plugging things in and out may become ever so slightly more annoying (for example, things that need to plugged in and out on a regular basis, say, the vacuum)

@sanity@sammy in my experience smart plugs don't take that much power somehow? maybe there's some trickery going on but I had two of them on my meter and both showed 0 while off, and readings while on, weren't all that different from when there's no plug in the middle
