incoherent KD ticket recognition rant
KD ticket recognition is peculiarthey recognise (with some problems):
- Interrail, but their scanners do not get that it's a ticket at all and so, they check it manually on your phone screen and you might get an "oh aren't y'all supposed to have a paper booklet for Interrail or something?" or a freakout, or no reaction at all (which is what I would prefer)
- DB tickets and these are the weird ones because, yes, you can buy tickets for KD trains through bahn.de, not all of them though, and again, scanners don't recognise it, I had it printed (and mechanically validated by EN staff) conductor had no problems with it after thoroughly reading it (I can imagine the thoughts in his head seeing a person with Utrecht-Wrocław ticket with multiple transfers though)
- RegioKarta, which is this 30% discount card issued by Polregio for use in regional trains, not all of the operators however recognise it (or in fact Polregio themselves in Pomorskie but that's a topic for another time, and I am not that versed in it), KD seems to recognise it, haven't tested it yet but they sure as hell do not recognise RegioKarnet which works on similar premise to Interrail but on regional trains in Poland and I fear they might mangle them up
