@jeder@navi Counterpoint: For some people, the essay format is simply much easier to engage with and the fluff is way less obstructive to them. I can dedicate a part of my attention to watching a video while doing other stuff, I can't do that with an article. Notably, when a video essay has some filler, I can just skip it or wait it out. When an article has filler, it's gonna actively detract from being able to read the already annoying wall of text.
@navi which is why I'd rather have an article on it which I can read in like 10 minutes max instead of wasting 4 hours because someone hasn't had a stand up gig in 5 years
