one of the people in my compartment wanted to go to Linköping, so this is more than mildly inconvenient to him, and at this point the announcements are the only thing we have to go off since this train doesn't really even exist in live tracking systems afaict

briefly considered booking an X2000 that goes from our extraordinary stop at Mjölby to Stockholm - it'd be there at 21:07. we're supposed to make the same time. I'm not optimistic at this point. but tbh at this point I do kinda wanna see this through to the end out of spite

ngl I still feel weird and fuzzy and a bit sad every time I take a new night train somewhere and find the couchettes are again old DB CNL stock, and at most they've had some new stickers applied and gotten some new livery
like
it's kinda cool to see how far they've travellered
but it also makes me whistful being reminded there's so many, and they used to be such a large network run by and from probably the best suited country for it, and DB just threw it all away
