So my friend recently acquired couple of R&G displays and controller but we are thinking about reverse enginnering the connection to display what we want and not only what is programmed into the controller (STI-3) and, yea, did any of people here have any knowledqe or expierence about this kind of stuff related to R&G?

@HiszpanInk can you dump the firmware from the controller? or document it somehow? this always interested me a lot

@domi not really sure now, I found some manual online (www.scribd.com/document/715756992/STI-3-v3-42i) but it doesn't help much, it is manual for the controller and there is some proprietary software for creating file with train timetable and then you put that file on SD card and load it to the controller (a guy from a company where my friend got it said that a guy from producer of the display comes once a year with that SD card and loads up that file). What I do know that it is RS-485

@HiszpanInk @domi fascinating hi tech solution "guy comes on site with a sd card" but ig if it works 🤷‍♂️ at least he has a job
