@elysia@ielenia why would they put that in front of the bus? i mean in case of accidents, having the bikes in the back is a lot more safe then having them in front, no?
@ielenia@puniko@elysia we don't have bike racks inside either, they are just supposed to go there, like, most of the time the best you will get is just a thing to lock the bike in
@ielenia@puniko@elysia I mean thats just the problem of how american agencies spec their vehicles, here this area is pretty much mandatory, the only thing that will differ is how long it will be
@jeder@puniko@elysia yeah but also most buses outside of Vancouver BC are not crowded so full that the extra seating space is taking away from actually usable space even during peaks
@puniko@jeder@elysia and TransLink accounts for this, on their buses they tend to prefer more standing room than seats, which is why their artics don't have seats in the joins and they only have one 1 seat instead of two by the rear door
@vijfhoek@jeder@elysia@ielenia here usually you have to pay extra if you want to take your bike with the bus. and since in my region, there are a lot of busses going to tourists spots (with a bunch of biking trails) they usually carry either a biking holder in the back or even a carriage. but ye, its also kinda rare to see people taking bikes onto the bus around here
@puniko@vijfhoek@jeder@ielenia Here it’s not allowed to put your bike in urban buses only on intercity buses. And its generally in the back. IMO, putting bike on urban buses like in VC is a good idea, maybe with 4 slots.
