Due to the fact that Bangladesh is home to a massive textile industry (seriously, itโs #1 export to the US and Europe is completed garments), you would think that this is a great way for me to get the same clothes I could buy in the UK, but at an absurdly cheap price
Unfortunately, that is not the case: due to trade agreements with western countries, clothing for export only cannot be sold domestically (legally, that is), so I canโt really just go to a clothes shop here and see M&S knitwear. You may find overruns domestically, but western companies would rather burn them in a pit than dare be behind fashion trends
There is a domestic market for clothing, but the quality and sizing are completely different, esp for t-shirt and tops, and getting a tailored suit is about as expensive as it is back home due to, again, textile controls
Shoes however seem to go under the radar, and you can get all kinds of replicas that are 99% the same as those under export
